Do you enjoy competing in natural areas? If so, you'll love the Mighty Mississinewa Triathlon. Follow the same paths historically walked by the Miami Indians. Swim the lake, ride county roads, and run groomed trails through beautiful scenery. Proceeds from this event will be invested in a fund managed by Indiana Heritage Trust to purchase ground around Mississinewa Lake, Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Mighty Mississinewa Triathlon (MMT)
Swim 500 yards, Bike 16.6 road miles, Run 3.75 miles

Start time: 8:30 a.m. all times Eastern Daylight Savings Time

Packet pickup - September 12, 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or at onsite check-in

Onsite check-in and late registration Sept. 13 - 7:00 to 7:30 a.m.

Cash or Check only, no credit cards, late registration adds $10

Mandatory safety meeting 7:50 a.m.

Fees: $40 individual, $90 team, $25 undergraduate, or 20 years and under

Age Group divisions in 5 year increments will receive 1st through 3rd place awards. First place winners will also select a prize. (If you choose a special division, you will forfeit any age group prize for which you might have qualified.) You may choose to participate in the following special divisions: Elite (Overall Race Competitors); Clydesdale (200lbs +); Athena (Women 165lbs +). Teams will be given 1st and 2nd place awards.

Overall race competitors (Elite) must compete in the first wave of their gender: Wave 1 with all men 34 and younger and Elites; Wave 2 with all women 34 and younger and Elites. Older individuals who want to compete for the overall winner placings must choose the Elite division. Prizes and awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall winners will range from $50 to $150 retail value. Elite participants cannot win age group awards. 

For a free sport's stuff sack whlie supplies last, register by July 1.  

Order a T-shirt for $9, or a Dri Fit shirt for $17 (by noon September 5th).

Course info:

Swim 500 yards in Mississinewa Reservoir - start and finish at the beach.

Bike 16.6 miles on lightly traveled scenic roads around the Mississinewa Reservoir.

Run 3.75 miles on Old Frances Slocum Trail Road, and the well groomed Moswa hiking trail.

The event staging and parking areas will be at the beach pavilion.

 

Also offered:

• Kids Fun Run for ages 10 and under and for ages 11 to 14, free on-site registration. Begins 8:10 a.m., ¼ mile on sidewalks up-hill from the beach
